Diyalagoda Parish

The environmental landscape in Diyalagoda has undergone significant changes in recent years, largely attributed to heightened human activity and associated environmental challenges. During a community assembly organized by the Caritas Seth Sarana with the help of our community to establish a Village Level Environment Group, residents unequivocally highlighted the issue of contaminated beaches, which pose a significant threat to their well-being and economic sustenance. A primary contributing factor to this predicament is the indiscriminate disposal of waste along the coastline by community members themselves. Recognizing the gravity of this environmental peril, Caritas Seth Sarana took proactive measures to facilitate a comprehensive beach clean-up initiative.
